BS EN 50075 Figure 7 standard Arrangement for Compression Test

Purpose:

This device is used for conducting pressure tests on plugs.

Operating Method:

1. Raise the fixed chuck to an appropriate height for preliminary fixing (the distance between the pressure head and the cushion block should be slightly greater than the thickness of the sample being tested), then place the test sample between the steel pressure head and the cushion block.

2. Check if the plane of the lever arm is level. Adjust the fixed chuck's position up or down to ensure the lever arm is level, then tighten the fixed chuck.

3. Hook the weight with a hook onto the end hook ring of the lever arm, keeping the weight stable and motionless for 5 minutes.

4. Remove the weight and take out the test sample. Inspect the sample to determine if it meets the required standards.

Weight Distribution:

The device uses weights to generate pressure. To reduce the weight and lighten the operator's workload, the device uses the lever principle to amplify the weight, ensuring a load weight of 150N (15.31 kg).

The data is as follows:

Weight of the pressure head weldment (amplification ratio 1:1):

Weight of the pressure head weldment: 0.4 kg

Actual pressure generated: 0.4 kg

Weight of the lever arm weldment (amplification ratio 1:3):

Weight of the lever arm weldment: 0.24 kg

Actual pressure generated: 0.72 kg

Weight of the weight (amplification ratio 1:5):

Weight of the weight: 2.84 kg

Actual pressure generated: 14.2 kg

Total Pressure Generated: 0.4 + 0.72 + 14.2 = 15.32 kg = 150.14 N (rounded to 150N)

Note: The calculations omit the amplification ratio for each component weight.
